Tuesday Announcement Expected To Reveal Tenant Of Vacated Whirlpool Plant

FORT SMITH (KFSM) – A Fort Smith plant that has been vacant for three years is set to re-open at least by next year, but this time under new tenants.

5NEWS has learned that a possible tenant will move into the old Whirpool plant by the fall of 2015 and by Jan. 1, 2016 at the latest.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson is scheduled to be in attendance at the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce announcement on Tuesday (July 7) at 2 p.m. at the chamber building, which is expected to reveal the new tenants.
