Bobby Portis had a wild 24 hours in the Windy City.

The reigning SEC player of the year threw out the first pitch at the Chicago White Sox game Monday night and then Tuesday he signed his rookie contract with the Bulls.

Though the details of the contract were not released, the 22nd pick in last month’s NBA draft inked the deal and will make at least $1.16 million during his rookie season as the NBA has a rookie wage scale. Portis would then make at least $1.2 million in his second season.

Portis averaged 15 points and 7.9 rebounds during his two seasons at Arkansas while shooting 52.6 percent from the field.

The Bulls also announced that Portis will wear No. 5. The Little Rock native wore No. 10 while playing for the Razorbacks.
