Vian Police Department Closes

VIAN (KFSM) – A local police department is closing while the department looks for a new police chief, according to authorities.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office has been taking calls for the Vian Police Department since Friday (July 24), said Sheriff Ron Lockhart.

Lockhart said the town council asked the sheriff’s office to take calls from people living in Vian until the police department finds a new police chief.
