Southside and Heritage are no strangers to one another and their second meeting of 2014 provided a classic.
The Rebels jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second round of the 7A playoffs and looked poised to coast to the semifinals but the War Eagles did not roll over.
Heritage scored 21 straight points to tie the game midway through the third quarter but, like has happen so many times in the past, Southside had plenty of late game magic left.
Andrew Barley hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass as Southside escaped with a 30-28 win and moved on to the semifinals.
