We’ll recap the top 10 games from the Football Friday Night area each day at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Charleston vs Booneville part two turned out to be a whole lot better than the original.

Both teams were defending state champions and this game would decide who got to play for the 3A championship the following weekend.

Charleston won the regular season meeting with ease as they scored early and often but this December clash was far different. Defense ruled the way as both offenses struggled but big plays determined the result.

The Tigers blocked a punt and recovered the loose  ball in the end zone for a score while the Bearcats picked off Charleston quarterback Ty Storey twice.

Booneville was marching in a tie game but a fumble recovered by Storey set up the game winning drive. Wade Gerlick scored from five yards out to put Charleston up 21-14 late in the fourth quarter then the Tigers defense sealed the win as they picked off a pass in the final minute to secure another trip to Little Rock.
