Learning to run actually starts with a lot of walking. Trainer, April Berkey, says that you should walk a little and then jog a little. "Three days a week, and then especially to start with fifteen-twenty minutes a day of a walk/run combo."
Berkey says that new runners also need a run plan. Go online and search for beginning 5-K training programs. This will tell you how long and how often to jog each week.
