More Than 1,700 Marijuana Plants Found During Helicopter Search

MARION COUNTY (KFSM) — Several plots of marijuana were uncovered in northern Marion County at two different residences during a helicopter flyover, according to the sheriff’s office.

After obtaining search warrants, officers found about 1,746 marijuana plants growing near both residences, a media release from the sheriff’s office states. Officers also located numerous weapons along with several pounds of processed marijuana, according to the release.

Sheriff Joan Vickers anticipates arrest warrants to be issued within the next few days, the release states.

Marion County deputies worked with the Drug Task Force, Arkansas Game & Fish, Flippin Police Department, Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas National Guard to uncover and eradicate the operation.
