SPRINGDALE (KFSM) -- A Springdale woman is behind bars without bond, after police said they found a man dead in her apartment early Sunday morning (August 16).

Wanda Andaluz-Prado, 44, faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in the man's death, according to her intake report at the Washington County Detention Center.

Officers with Springdale Police said they first arrived at Aldaluz-Prado's apartment at 514 Butterfield Coach Road around 2:50 a.m. Once inside the woman's apartment, officers said they found a Hispanic man dead. The police report states that the victim was lying in a pool of his own blood with a knife next to his body when he was found. The report goes on to state that paramedics tried to revive the victim for several minutes, but were unable to.

Officers then began speaking with Andaluz-Prado, who said that she and the victim were arguing throughout the night, the report states. Andaluz-Prado told officers she left the apartment when the man grabbed a knife. She went on to tell officers that when she returned to the apartment, she found the victim dead in her kitchen.

However, officers then spoke with a witness, who claimed Andaluz-Prado was actually the one who stabbed the victim.

While being interviewed by detectives, Andaluz-Prado admitted to stabbing the victim one time, the police report states. She also told detectives that she cleaned the knife and then placed it next to his body before officers arrived. Detectives then asked Andaluz-Prado if she felt her life was in danger when she stabbed the man; Andaluz-Prado said "no" and that she could have left the apartment if she'd wanted to at the time.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

Andaluz-Prado is due in court for her 8.1 hearing on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
