LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) – A 48-year-old Talihina man is recovering at the hospital after he crashed into both a utility pole and a fence, causing him to roll his truck early Monday morning (Aug. 17) in LeFlore County.

Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the driver as Leo Ventris. They said he was headed west bound on Oklahoma State Highway 63 around 1:50 a.m., when he veered off the road and hit a utility pole and fence. Ventris’ vehicle rolled over before coming to a rest on the passenger side, troopers said.

While investigating the accident, troopers said Ventris and his truck both smelled of alcohol. Troopers listed the cause of the crash as “alcohol” on their investigation report.

Doctors are treating Ventris for a neck injury at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He is in stable condition, troopers said.

It’s unclear if Ventris will be ticketed for the crash at this time.
