FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A man is in custody after police arrested him on suspicion of being involved in a stabbing.

Earlier Tuesday, the Fort Smith Police Department has confirmed that a stabbing suspect and a possible eyewitness to the incident were arrested Monday (August 24).

Robert Overby and Amy Parchcorn were located and arrested in Crawford County.

Parchcorn was released without a bond.

Parchcorn was arrested on two outstanding City of Fort Smith warrants for failure to pay a fine and a misdemeanor failure to appear charge, according to the release.

Fort Smith Police said Overby was interviewed by an investigator and is being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center suspicion of a second degree battery charge. According to the release, his bond is set for $10,000.

Police said the stabbing happened Saturday night (August 22). Detectives found Kenneth Crowley stabbed multiple times. Crowley was immediately taken to a local hospital. Officers found that Robert Overby was a possible suspect, police said.

Detectives interviewed Crowley who told them that after he forced Overby and his girlfriend, Amy Parchcorn, out of his house located in the 1900 block of North C Street, Overby stabbed a tire on Crowley’s SUV and took off running, according to police. Crowley told detectives he then jumped into his vehicle and caught up to Overby near North 17th and C Streets where Overby stabbed Crowley several times, police said.
