False Positive Screenings Cause Health Issues

A false-positive screening on a mammogram can lead to additional health problems, according to a new Swedish study.

Researchers tracked about 400 women who needed furthering testing to rule out breast cancer. Before the patients were cleared of cancer, most reported increased anxiety, difficulties at work and sleep problems that for many lasted up to a year.
