SEBASTIAN COUNTY (KFSM) — A girl is recovering after a man crashed his vehicle into a home following a pursuit Saturday (Aug. 29), according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after midnight on Saturday, a deputy attempted to stop a car at the intersection of S. 31st and Highway 71 South, but the driver fled, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators said the suspect drove into a neighborhood area and lost control of his vehicle crashing into a home in the 8600 block Meadow Drive in Fort Smith while the girl was in the driveway. The child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital where she was treated and released, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash also left behind minor damage to the home and two vehicles that were also in the driveway, investigators said.

Raylon Triplett, 25 of Fort Smith (pictured below) was arrested and faces numerous charges, including driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and felony fleeing, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, simultaneous possession of drugs and fire and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office. Triplett is also facing a first-degree battery charged for injuring the girl in the driveway, investigators said.
