FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce started displaying “For Fayetteville” signs in their office windows.
For Fayetteville is a group that supports the Uniform Civil Rights Protection Ordinance 5781, which protects the LGBT community from discrimination by businesses and housing agents.
“We thank the Chamber and the 1,200 businesses they represent for their continued support,” the group stated in a press release.
According to the group, 406 Fayetteville businesses have signed their Equality Business Pledge. Every pledge is displayed at their office at 16 W. Center St.
The special election for the ordinance will be Sept. 8. Early voting starts Sept. 1.
