FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A fire department chief will retire in the fall after nearly 33 years of service in the Fort Smith Fire Department.
Mike Richards announced he will retire on Oct. 30, 2015 after being department’s chief since June 2009.
It is not known if the city will hire inside the fire department or look to hire externally.
