Suspect In Custody, One Injured After Overnight Shooting In Paris

PARIS (KFSM) — One person is shot and another was taken into custody following a shooting that happened in Paris, according to the police department.

Dispatchers said the call came in at 10:07 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 3) on North 5th Street.

Paris Police said the suspect was walking through the neighborhood when he fired a gun at a home.

Sources said a man and woman were watching tv in their living room while two children were asleep in another room. Suddenly, shots were fired through the living room window.

The man was shot in the arm and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith with non life-threatening injuries, according to officers.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody at 10:45 p.m.

Eyewitnesses said the family knew the suspect, but believe they never had any problems with him.

Names have not been released at this time. We also do not currently know the charges the suspect is facing.
