FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Fans came out to Razorback Stadium Saturday (Sept. 5) to cheer on the Hogs as they faced off against UTEP in the home season opener.

Thousands of fans were seen tailgating in the Gardens and around the stadium before the game. Katie Olejniczak is visiting from Indiana with her brother. She said she has never seen so much energy at a tailgate.

"There is so much excitement, there is music, there are so many people around, it is awesome," Olejniczak.

Graham Coffelt has been going to games for the last ten years. He said this year is even more exciting as the Razorbacks keep improving.

"When you only have one program in the state that gets the attention that Arkansas does, there are no other high-end professional teams here, this is it, so you put all of your heart into it and it becomes part of you, it becomes part of the lifestyle," Coffelt said.

The Hogs will be back in Fayetteville Sept. 17 against Texas Tech.
