ALMA (KFSM)– A local high school held a pre-game ceremony Friday night (September 11) to remember9/11.

The choir opened the show by singing “I’m Proud To Be An American” by Lee Greenwood.

The ROTC presented the colors while the band and choir performed “America the Beautiful.”

Fans showed their patriotism by waving flags and wearing red, white and blue.

Senior band member, Nicholas Gregory, said he loves that his school has this tradition.

“It’s great to be a part of that because, I mean, music is pretty powerful in itself, so it’s all a part of it,” Gregory said. “It’s good to see the student body get involved in it, and the band’s involved, cheer’s involved, dance is involved. Everyone’s getting involved.”

Alma High School has held a patriotic ceremony every year since the September 11th attack, and Gregory said he believes they’ll continue the tradition for years to come.
