FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — The Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center on the University of Arkansas campus had its official dedication in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 18).

The center is housed in the newly renovated Field House building, which is located on Garland Avenue, according to a University of Arkansas Newswire article. The state-of-the-art facility will house 600 guests and the stage can accommodate as many as 250 performers.

Jim and Joyce Faulkner, who are both University of Arkansas alumni, spoke at the ceremony. They donated $6 million in 2012, which set the project in motion.

The Faulkner Performing Arts Center will house an estimated two hundred performances each year, primarily featuring student and faculty members. The first public performance will be a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.
