SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A  Springdale Hazmat team responded to a fuel spill on Sunset Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (September 27).

Fire officials said a semi began leaking diesel fuel after a piece of debris punctured the fuel tank.

They said it happened in front of the Western Sizzlin on the 3500 block of Sunset Avenue. They estimated 25 to 30 gallons were spilled.

One lane was closed while crews worked to clean up the spill. Fire officials said they laid down an absorbent cat litter to soak up the fuel.
