BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – According to a jail report, a 39-year-old man is being held at the Benton County Jail, facing several charges.

The listed charges include felony fleeing, reckless driving, obstructing governmental operations and resisting arrest.

A jail report identifies the man as Gabriel Lee Delossantos.

According to the report, a Benton County Sheriff’s Department deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by Delossantos on Thursday, September 3.

The deputy claimed he approached the vehicle, and asked the driver for identification.

According to the report the driver, later identified as Delossantos, originally said he did not have an identification card.

Delossantos told the deputy his name was “John Roberts,” the report states.

The report says after giving the false name, Delossantos then put the vehicle in drive, and fled.

Deputies then pursued the vehicle. However, the report says they lost the vehicle, after the car fishtailed through a field, causing dirt to be thrown in the air. Damages to the field were estimated to be more than $1,200.

Delossantos was later identified by deputies, after his description matched that of a man who had run-ins with other deputies in the past, according to the report.

Deputies did have phone conversations with Delossantos, according to the report. However, the report says Delossantos hung up on them when they asked if he was the one who fled.

A warrant was issued for Delossantos’ arrest.

Delossantos was later arrested.

Jail records did not explain how Delossantos was apprehended. Records show he was booked on Friday (Sept. 25.)

Delossantos is now being held in the Benton County Jail.

His bond was set at $60,000.
