FORT SMITH (KFSM) - The United Way of Fort Smith is in the midst of its fundraising campaign season. Over the last several weeks, 5NEWS has been speaking with the 32 agencies the United Way helps as they discuss the organization's impact.

For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (September 27), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Executive Director Rick Scott of the South Logan County Boys and Girls Club. Scott said United Way has been supporting them since 2001. The club, located in Booneville, has an average of around 120 children a year it serves, according to Scott.

He also said they keep membership prices low to ensure any child can participate in the program.
