FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — A Fayetteville officer was injured while responding to a domestic dispute at a Fayetteville apartment complex over the weekend.

Jeneau Shelton, 22, of Fayetteville, is facing charges of battery in the second degree, resisting arrest resulting in injury, and disorderly conduct after an altercation with two officers on Saturday (Sept. 26), according to the arrest report.

The officers went to investigate a domestic dispute at Fair Park Apartments around 3 a.m. on Saturday, where officers had just arrested Shelton’s brother, Jewell, 19, who is facing charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor.

After a dispute following his brother’s arrest, Jeneau Shelton started swinging his elbows at officers who were trying to stop him. His elbow struck one of the officers in the nose.

The officer’s nose was bleeding and swollen. He went to Washington Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Both brothers are being held on bond in the Washington County Jail.
