Driver Of SUV That Crashed Into Lake Tenkiller Identified

LAKE TENKILLER (KFSM) — The driver of an SUV that ran into Lake Tenkiller was identified Tuesday (Oct. 13), according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Tara J. Mize, 40, of Broken Arrow was pronounced dead at the scene Monday from head, leg and arm injuries, according to OHP.

She was southbound on SH82, five miles south of Tahlequah, when for an unknown reason her Chrysler Pacifica left the roadway to the right and drove off a 40 foot bluff and into the lake, OHP states.

Mize was pinned and extricated by the Cherokee National Marshall Dive Team, according to OHP.
