FORT SMITH (KFSM) - An event scheduled for Wednesday (October 21) will bring the most stylish, designer purses under one roof. This is for an auction that will send the proceeds towards buying books for kids lacking them.

In a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (October 18), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Cindy Barker and Angie Ruth who discussed an event organized by the United Way of Fort Smith titled "Power of the Purse." They said forty-five purses will be auctioned with the money raised going to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Ruth said they created this event ten years ago to give kids a head start when their entering kindergarten.

Tickets will cost forty dollars per person, and the event will be held at the Movie Lounge Epicenter in Fort Smith. If someone is interested in attending, click on this link.
