Waldron Man Killed, Two Others Injured After Truck Hits Building

SCOTT COUNTY (KFSM) — A Waldron man is dead and two others are injured after the truck they were in ran off the road and hit an abandoned building Wednesday night (Oct. 28).

A fatal crash summary report from Arkansas State Police states the driver of the truck, Austin Hunt, failed to negotiate a curve on U.S. Highway 71 at Y City around 9:30 p.m. The truck then crashed into the corner of a nearby building before coming to a stop.

Hunt died as a result of his injuries. He was 41 years old.

The two passengers in the truck, Karen Jennings, 27, and William Shores, 28, both of Waldron, were injured in the accident. They’ve both been taken to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Weather conditions were clear at the time of the crash, the report states.
