SAN ANGELO, TEXAS (KFSM) – The UAFS Lady Lions took down the No. 1 seed and No. 23-ranked Angelo State in five-sets Saturday to win the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament in San Angelo, Texas.
UAFS won the match 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 17-25, 15-13 extending its winning streak to 28 matches.
The Lady Lions advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the second year in a row. The Elite Eight will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center in Tampa, Fla. UAFS will play Wheeling Jesuit, the champion of the Atlantic Region.
