Razorbacks facing Wildcats for second time in four years in postseason

For the second time in in four years, Arkansas will face Kansas State in a bowl game.

The Razorbacks and Wildcats met in the Cotton Bowl in January of 2012 and now they’ll meet in the Autozone Liberty Bowl on January 2, 2016 in Memphis.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 2:20 p.m.

Arkansas struggled to started to start the season and started 1-3 before rallying to win six of their final eight games to end the season 7-5.

Current Arkansas coach Bret Bielema was the co-defensive coordinator at Kansas State in 2002 and 2003 before leaving for Wisconisn.

Kansas State struggled midway through the season as they lost six straight games in the Big XII before winning their final three games to finish 6-6. The Wildcats edged West Virginia Saturday, 24-23, to qualify for a bowl game.

The matchup appears to be a favorable one for Arkansas as the Wildcats struggled to throw the football in 2015, completing just 46.9 percent of their passes for 2,125 yards and 13 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions.

Kansas State lost by two points to Oklahoma State and seven points to both Baylor and TCU during their six game skid.

Arkansas ended the regular season with a 28-3 win over Missouri. The Razorbacks five losses came by a combined 36 points, including three games decided by seven points or less.
