KAY COUNTY, Okla. (KFSM) — The search for a Fayetteville musician, who has been missing since Sunday when he went on a duck hunting trip with a friend in Oklahoma, will resume Friday morning (Jan. 1, 2016), according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Craig Strickland, 29, of Backroad Anthem, has not yet been found, but the body of his friend Chase Morland, 22, of Van Buren, was recovered Monday, OHP states.

Search crews are using sonar boats and helicopters, according to OHP. Two search canines from Missouri were also brought in Thursday (Dec. 31).

OHP was notified of two missing hunters on Kaw Lake late Sunday night and a capsized boat was located just after midnight Monday, but the hunters were nowhere to be found.

Search crews also located Strickland’s dog Monday, according to a post on his wife’s Twitter. Strickland is married to Miss Arkansas USA 2014 Helen Wiser.

On Tuesday, Wiser shared a photo of the dog, named Sam, writing that he is fine and wouldn’t leave Morland’s body until search crews found him.

A Facebook post made on Dec. 26 on Morland’s page states the following:

“In case we don’t come back, Craig Strickland and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma.”
