FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) — Training for commercial drivers will be expanded in Northwest Arkansas, thanks to a partnership between the University of Arkansas Global Campus, Northwest Technical Institute of Springdale and Mid-America Truck Driving School Inc. of Malvern.
The trucking industry is often plagued by driver shortages. According to a release, this partnership should make it easier for individuals to prepare for commercial driver’s license tests, qualifying them for driving tractor-trailers, dump trucks, log trucks or other commercial vehicles
Both education and hands-on training will be available.
The three institutions will sign a formal agreement at the U of A Global Campus in Rogers at 11 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 7), the release states.
