FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Fourth graders at a local elementary school got front-row seats to a private concert from world-renowned pianist Simone Dinnerstein.

"Playing an instrument lets you appreciate music in a very different type of way," Dinnerstein said.

On Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 6), Dinnerstein played a new Casio keyboard for the students. At the end of the performance, she donated the keyboard to the school.

"I was really surprised," music teacher Anthony Lytle said. "It was one of those things that just kind of slipped by me, like 'oh that's nice,' and now as I keep seeing it over there I'm like 'wait, it's staying,' that's fantastic."

Dinnerstein is playing at the Walton Arts Center on Friday (Jan. 8). The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are still available.
