EUREKA SPRINGS (KFSM) — A Eureka Springs man was facing numerous charges Tuesday (Jan. 19) for the kidnapping and rape of two victims, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began Dec. 23, 2015 when deputies met with a female victim at Eureka Springs Hospital who reported she had been raped and held against her will at a cabin outside the city, the sheriff’s office said.

When investigators followed the victim to her place of work to gather evidence she pointed out the man who assaulted her in the parking lot, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrested Patrick Amos Gaylor, 38, on charges of second-degree battery, first-degree false imprisonment, interference with emergency communications and obstructing governmental operations, the sheriff’s office said. After serving a search warrant at Gaylor’s home and gathering sufficient evident, the suspect was additionally charged with rape, kidnapping and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

A second victim then came forward to investigators and reported being raped in the same location as the other victim and under similar circumstances, the sheriff’s office said. On Jan. 15, the sheriff’s office added additional charges against Gaylor including rape, kidnapping and third-degree battery, according to investigators.

Gaylor is being held at the Carroll County Jail on a combined bond of $350,000, the sheriff’s office said.
