BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- School buses in Bentonville could get a new look.

The district is looking into putting advertisements on the back of its buses.

Tuesday night (Jan. 19), the school board approved moving forward with the bidding process to get more information before committing to the proposal.

The revenue from the ads would fund the district's transportation department. Some people said it would be a great way for the district to raise money.

"Any way you can supplement schools for a lack of funds is a great idea and it's not hurting anyone," said Jeremy Gunn. "I mean it's a great way for local businesses to get the word out there so I think it's a great idea."

Bentonville Schools say if it was to put ads on buses, they would have to look for a vendor and then the school board would need to approve it.
