LUTHER, Okla. (KFOR) — Their field was destroyed making way for a new Walmart, now an Oklahoma little league is calling on Walmart to foot the bill.

The Luther Walmart is closing, less than a year after opening.

It’s the off-season for the Luther Lions, but now the little lions are without a den.

Instead, they’re renting the big Lion’s lair, Luther School’s Wilson Field, after their own field was stripped away to make room for a new Walmart.

Julie Moore is a longtime Luther resident, and a proud football mom.

“They work hard, and they love football,’ she exclaimed. “Everybody’s really frustrated.”

Moore couldn’t believe her ears when she learned that the Walmart was closing shop after less than a year.
