Pea Ridge Suspect Arrested On Suspicion Of Unlawful Possession Of Firearms

PEA RIDGE (KFSM) — A man is behind bars at the Benton County Jail after police officers arrested him on suspicion of multiple felonies.

According to the Pea Ridge Police Department, Karl Gilbert, 59, was known to be a convicted felon, and he and his wife Barbara Gilbert, 71, had pawned firearms on separate occasions at a local pawn store.

After obtaining search and arrest warrants, officers located multiple items of drug paraphernalia, controlled substance, several functional firearms and various ammo items, according to a press release.

Barbara was released with a criminal citation after she was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor drug charges.

Karl remains booked at the jail without bond, arrested on suspicion of five felony counts of possession of firearm by certain persons (in addition to the charge listed on the warrant) and three misdemeanor drug charges.
