Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested Near Sallisaw After High-Speed Chase

SALLISAW (KFSM) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested a suspect following a high-speed chase on Wednesday evening (Jan. 20).

Sheriff Ron Lockhart said the man stole a vehicle in Sequoyah County on Monday.

Fort Smith Police officers began pursuing the suspect, John Crossno, as he drove over the Garrison Avenue bridge into Oklahoma.

The chase remained on U. S. Highway 64, topping speeds of 85 mph, until just east of Sallisaw, where the vehicle drove off the road and into grass; Crossno was arrested shortly after.

Lockhart said alcohol was involved.

Crossno, 37, is behind bars at the Sequoyah County Jail.
