OKLAHOMA CITY (KFSM) — After he was convicted of multiple sex crimes, a former Oklahoma City police officer was sentenced to 263 consecutive years in prison Thursday (Jan. 21).

In December, a jury convicted Daniel Holtzclaw of 18 counts of various sex crimes, including rape and sexual battery.

Thirteen victims testified against Holtzclaw at his trial saying he forced them to perform sexual acts while he was on duty.

On Wednesday (Jan. 20), Holtzclaw’s attorney filed a motion for a new trial claiming his client was denied a fair trial “because the government made deliberate discovery violations and misrepresentations, undermining confidence in the verdict.”

The attorney’s motion was denied before Holtzclaw was sentenced.
