YELL COUNTY (KFSM) — Two suspects have been released on bond after being arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies.

According to a press release, Sidney Lee Ward, 69, and Donna Ward, 41, both of Belleville, are believed to have taken more than $680,000 in unauthorized funds from Yell County EMS.

The two suspects surrendered to Yell County sheriff investigators on Monday morning (Jan. 25).

The release stated that an investigation had begun in August 2015 at the request of Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum, II. Questions had arose about the finances of the Yell County Emergency Medical Service. Sidney Ward had been the ambulance service director, while Donna Ward worked as the bookkeeper.

Sidney Ward faces six class B felony charges of theft of property.

Donna Ward face the following charges:

  • three class B felony counts of theft of property
  • three class C felony counts of theft of property
  • one class C felony of unlawful act regarding computers
  • one class D felony of computer fraud
  • one class D felony of tampering with evidence

The arraignment hearing for the two suspects has been scheduled for February 4, 2016.
