FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)-- Habitat for Humanity of Washington County is breaking ground on its first two-family house next week.

The groundbreaking will happen Feb. 2 at the location of the future home on West Street.

"We tried to raise the bar for a few years now and what people normally think of as a 'Habitat home' and breaking that mold," Director Jason Kindall said. "I think we're there and this is another step in that direction."

Kindall said the new townhouse will be next to the Razorback Greenway and just down the street from the public library.

"There's dining, there's the farmer's market on the square, and it's all right there within reach," Kindall said.

Kindall said they're submitting building plans to the city and hope to start construction on March 1. He said this will be the 53rd and 54th house to be built in Washington County.
