SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A Springdale man must spend more than 12 years in prison after he was found guilty of distributing drugs and illegally possessing a firearm.

Gilberto Ray Ramos was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, three counts of distribution of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a press release from the the Western District of Arkansas U.S. District Court.

Ramos, who was previously convicted of felony drug offences, was investigated by the Fourth Judicial Drug Court in October 2014, the release states. The drug task force used an informant to purchase methamphetamine from him.

Law enforcement agents also seized methamphetamine and a firearm while searching his residence on Dec. 5, according to the release.

Ramos must spend 148 months in a federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
