Razorbacks Rally Falls Short At Florida

Florida Monitor

GAINESVILLE, FLA. (KFSM) – Florida was able to do just enough to hold off Arkansas for the 11th straight time at home as the Gators posted an 87-83 win.

Arkansas hit three 3-pointers in the final 40 seconds but Florida iced the game away at the foul line as the Gators hit 7-of-8 from the foul line the final 30 seconds.

““It was a gutsy performance by our team, we didn’t go away and we gave ourselves a chance,” Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said. “Give them a lot of credit for going to the free throw line and knocking their shots down. All of the guys brought it tonight. We came in here with the mindset of winning, but give them credit for holding serve at home.”

Anthlon Bell became the 39th player in Arkansas history to score 1,000 points in a career as he finished with a game high 24 points. Dusty Hannahs added 20 while Moses Kingsley finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.

North Little Rock graduate and Florida guard KeVaughn Allen finished with 10 points but put the game away as he hit a pair of free throws with less than seven seconds left to set the final margin. Dorian Finney-Smith led the Gators with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting.
