POTEAU (KFSM) - Friends and faculty at Poteau Primary School hosted a chili dog dinner, bake sale and silent auction Thursday (Feb. 11) night to benefit LaVette Flynn.

Flynn, a teacher at Poteau Primary, lost her home to a fire in January of this year.

The school managed to raise $6,404.50 for the Flynn, and she said she cannot believe how many people want to help her family.

"It means the world to me," Flynn said. "I work for an awesome community, and I work with an awesome group of people. It just makes me feel so loved. It feels good to know that I'm so loved."

Flynn said they plan to rebuild their home just as it was before.
