ROGERS (KFSM) — Rogers firefighters extinguished a small blaze in an abandoned house in Rogers on Thursday morning (Feb. 11).

Emergency personnel responded to the fire in the 2800 block of West Pleasant Grove Road around 8 a.m., where they spotted smoke coming from the roof of the abandoned home, police said.

Saul Velazquez-Zarbia, 29, of Kansas City, Kansas, started the fire on a stone floor inside the building while trying to stay warm, and the house filled with smoke, police said. He is not facing charges at this time.

Police said the house had minor damage.
