VAN BUREN (KFSM) -- A 19-year-old Deadpool fan from Van Buren got the surprise of a lifetime when she got invited to the New York City premiere of the new movie by none other than the star of the film himself, Ryan Reynolds.
The story starts after Mariah Boyle underwent wisdom tooth surgery. On the way home from the dentist, Boyle, who was feeling the effects of anesthesia and had a mouth full of gauze, started crying in her mom's car thinking that she had missed seeing Deadpool. Her mom, Rita, got the whole thing on video (included below) and posted it to Reynold's Facebook fan page and it caught the actor's attention.
"I thought I was going to miss the Deadpool movie coming out," Boyle said. "I thought it came and went, so I started bawling."
In response, Reynolds took a photo of himself with gauze in his mouth in solidarity with Boyle and then invited her and her brother to the New York City premiere of Deadpool.
"Some people who work with him sent me a message saying they wanted to fly me to New York to the Deadpool premiere," Boyle said. "I was freaking out."
The premiere took place Monday (Feb. 9) and Reynolds stopped by to chat with Boyle and take a few photos with her before walking the red carpet.
"He is just as funny in person as he is in his movies," Boyle said. "He walked toward me with excitement, so I was like 'He's excited to meet me!'"
Deadpool, which focuses on the popular Marvel comic book character, opens in theaters Friday (Feb. 12) and Boyle said she highly recommends the movie.
"It's hilarious. They're going to laugh the whole time," she said.
