COLUMBIA (KFSM)- On Valentine’s day the Arkansas women’s basketball team got their hearts broken by the Missouri Tigers on the road losing 69-48. Making the Razorbacks tied up  with the Arkansas men’s basketball team, 5-7 in SEC play and 1-8 with away games. It seems like there is a road game curse that the Arkansas basketball teams’ are under, and I’m sure head coach Jimmy Dykes would like that curse to be lifted sooner rather than later.

The first half was a bad showing for the Hogs, they shot just 23% (7-30) from the floor and were just 13% (1-8) on three-pointers. Making the score a SEC season low 17-42 at halftime. Arkansas had to find away to come back in the second half, not only over come their 25-point deficit, but to turn the game around.

In the second half Arkansas improved the best that they could on the floor.  They improved their shooting, 43% (13-10) in the second half.  Arkansas had to heavily rely on their young freshmen in the game. Freshman Malica Monk had a career-best 15 points, including hitting half court a buzzer beater going into halftime. Freshman Jordan Danberry was also not far behind in points with 12 points and 3 assists. Even with so many underclassmen on the court the Razorbacks managed to handle the ball well with just nine turnovers the entire contest.

Arkansas will be back at Bud Walton Thursday February 18th at 7 p.m. to take on Alabama.

Including the Alabama game, the Razorbacks only have four regular season games left. The last game will be played at home against Ole Miss Sunday February 28th.
