Taccolini Dazzles In Season Opening Win

Hogs starter goes seven innings and allows just one run in season opener

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Dominic Taccolini had to sit out of fall baseball during his junior season for Arkansas. He made up for lost time in Friday’s season opener.

The right-hander threw seven innings and allowed just one run on one hit and struck out three as he picked up the win in Arkansas’ 6-1 victory over Central Michigan inside Baum Stadium.

Taccolini retired 13 straight batters at one point and threw 79 pitches in the season opener.

Cullen Gassaway provided all of Arkansas’ offense through the first six innings of work as he had a RBI in the first and sixth innings.

The Razorbacks blew the game open in the eighth inning as they plated four runs, two coming on a triple by Jake Arledge then he scored on a throwing error.
