West Fork Looking To Stay Hot Heading Into Regionals

West Fork is on a 10 game win streak, and coming of a district tournament win as they set their eyes on gearing up for regionals and state.

WEST FORK (KFSM) - The West Fork Tigers came into the season very much under the radar. But so far, they've proved most wrong.

"They looked at us as the underdogs, and they overlooked us a couple of times I think, and we kind of capitalized on that," senior center Cody Roebke said.

The Tigers are on a 10-game win streak and have brought home a conference co-championship along with district tournament championship so far this season.

"It gives up a lot of momentum feeling that pretty much we can take on any team," senior guard Ryan Roebke said. "Saying that, I mean going through all the close games that we have, we can always have a chance to win."

The confidence among this team to keep that streak going, and make it all the way to state is high. But, first things first for these guys heading into regionals Wednesday.

"The only thing we're concerned about is Lamar," coach Cody Vaught said. "That's our first round game. So, our entire focus for the next two and a half days is going to be on what the Lamar Warriors do, what we can do to give ourselves a little bit of an edge, and hopefully find a way to beat them and advance to state. That's one of our seniors goals is to advance to the state tournament this year."

The Tigers are hungry for their first basketball state title.

"That'd be great. Everybody wants to bring home a state title. So that's what we're going to try to do," Ryan said.
