BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — A Benton County deputy accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl bonded out of jail Thursday (Feb. 25).

Deputy Lloyd Sean Chandler, 39, was fired Wednesday after he was arrested on suspicion of statutory rape, according to Sheriff Kelley Cradduck.

Chandler was released on $50,000 bond, according to jail records.

The Bentonville and Rogers Police Departments began investigating Friday (Feb. 19).

The Bentonville Police Department issued a press release stating Chandler had engaged in sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old.

According to the victim, she met the deputy last year at her place of employment.  A friendship began and the two talked on social media and also shared inappropriate photos.  In June 2015, Chandler invited her to his personal residence in Rogers and the two had sexual intercourse, the release stated.

Chandler is facing charges of first-degree sexual assault and distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

His next court date was set for April 4.
