OKLAHOMA (KFSM) --  Voters in Oklahoma can start hitting the polls to vote in the presidential election starting Thursday (Feb. 25).

When voters stop by the polling sites, the first thing they'll do is sign-in. Voters need to remember to bring their I.D.'s.

Voters will then fill out a green sheet which is an absentee application. Then a member of the election board will look the voters name up in the system to see which ballot they should receive. After that, they go to the booth and will check mark their ballot. Afterwards, voters will put the ballot in the machine to be scanned. Overall the process shouldn't take more than five minutes.

Election board members said that the few minutes it takes will be worth it. "I think it's important for everybody to participate because your vote counts," said Merel Rowe with the Sequoyah County Election Board.

Polling sites are open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The polls are also open on Saturday (Feb. 27) from 9:00 a.m. until 2 p.m.
