FORT SMITH (KFSM) — Police are looking for a man they say threatened a store manager with a gun.

On January 7, 2016, a black male entered the Family Dollar located at 3960 North O Street. The unidentified suspect walked to a sales rack that contained DVD’s, and left the store after being inside just over a minute, according to release from the Fort Smith Police Department.

As the man passed through the exit door, he activated the anti-theft alarms.  He was approached by management and asked to reenter the store, the release stated.

The manager reported the man patted his front pocket and said, “Don’t mess with me, I have a gun.”

The manager backed off and called police.  It is unknown at this time if an actual theft occurred, according to police.

Detective Anthony Parkinson with the Fort Smith Police Department is trying to identify the suspect.  He reportedly left the scene in a tan colored, four-door Cadillac with a partial Arkansas license plate of OO.  Last direction of travel was north on North 41st Street.

Anyone with information about the above person or know of his whereabouts is asked to call the Fort Smith Police Department at (479) 709-5100 or dial 78-CRIME.
