CLARKSVILLE (KFSM) — The Clarksville Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of six-month-old infant, according to a release from the department.

The department announced Tuesday (March 1) it had arrested the infant’s father, Brandon Lavert Patton, 28, on suspicion of second-degree battery.

The death investigation started Feb. 25 at an apartment on Shady Grove Road, according to police.

Patton is currently being held at the Johnson County Detention Center and his bail has been set at $500,000 cash bond, police said.

The infant’s body has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for an autopsy and the charges against Patton could change when the results of the autopsy are back, according to police.
